About the role
We are hiring a senior Python engineer in Amman to own backend systems that carry real production load. You will work across the stack that serves our AI products, from the API layer through to the data pipelines feeding our models, alongside a small team where your decisions genuinely shape the architecture.
What you will do
- Design and build Django services that handle real traffic
- Model and optimise PostgreSQL schemas, including bilingual data
- Build data pipelines that feed and retrain machine learning models
- Integrate with third-party systems including ERP and payment gateways
- Review colleagues' code and mentor mid-level engineers
- Take part in architecture decisions rather than receiving them
How we work
We work in two-week cycles with a demonstration at the end of each. Code is reviewed by a colleague before it merges, tests ship with features rather than afterwards, and we write things down so nobody becomes a single point of failure.
Our office is in Khalda, Amman. We work Sunday to Thursday and we mean it when we say the week ends on Thursday. Hybrid arrangements are normal and agreed per person rather than dictated by policy.
